NEWS

Other then providing fire protection and emergency medical assistance, The York Center Fire Protection District offers many other services. Teaching CPR to residents and local business, installing smoke detectors for the senior citizens of our district, fire inspections of business and residential homes. Hosting gatherings, such as our annual open house during the national Fire Prevention Week are just a few examples of what the Fire District provides. We also try and make appearances at picnics and block parties. Feel free to contact us for your block party. You must live within our Fire Protection District for us to attend your event.

Fire Extinguisher Drills/Demos

If your company, household or neighborhood would like a fire extinguisher demonstration contact the Fire Station to set up an appointment.  We can come to your home or business if you live in the District (if you live outside the District you must come to the Fire Station) to explain when and how to use a fire extinguisher.

Fire Station Tours/Block Parties

Fire Station Tours and Block Parties are fun for everyone.  We can accommodate station tours for any number of visitors.  You are always welcome to stop by and say hi.  Because we can never plan on someone being at the Firehouse all the time, it is best to call and set up a date and time.  If you are planning a block party and would like us to stop by and say hi, call and let us know when your party is.  If we are available that day we will try and stop by to say hi.  We can give children an opportunity to look around the vehicles and answer any question they may have.

Fire Evacuation Drills

Fire drills are not just a school time activity.  Is your home or business ready to react to a fire alarm?  Do you know what to do when a fire happens?  Contact the station and allow us to show you what to do in an emergency.  Our fire evacuation drills teach you how to identify fire, how to avoid getting trapped or injured, get to safe point outside the house or office and what to do after a fire.
